Photo Tip 108 - Boudoir Posing: The main goal in posing for Boudoir Photography is to make the woman feel beautiful no matter what faults she thinks she may have.

Most women tend to be more self-conscious about their bodies from their tummies down. This is why I tend to pose most shots at an angle so that I have a full body shot but as you go down the photo, the subject’s body seems smaller. To do this, your subjects face will be closer to the camera and her tummy, hips, and legs farther away.
I also pose the clients depending on lighting situations. If a clients does not like her backside, I will set up my softbox towards the front of her and no light on the other side. This will create a more moody atmosphere (perfect for Boudoir) and hide all of her back side that she does not like.

I also encourage my clients to arch their backs. The more the better. It may feel too dramatic to them but looks great in the photos. It also accentuates certain features. I sometimes even let my customers know that they may be sore the next day. A photo shoot with me is s like doing yoga for the first time :)
