Diane_Aiello  It used to be that a firm handshake and good eye to eye contact were the key to getting in the door, nowadays having a good Facebook, linked in,twitter or modeling photo are taking precedence so don't leave getting the perfect image to chance.  With a bit of preparation you will be more than ready for your closeup when your photo opportunity arrives!

Over the years I have worked with every type of client you can imagine from celebrities to models and everyday men and women who just want to look and feel amazing so I want to share with you some of the tips and tricks I use on my clients everyday to put them on the fast track to gorgeous.

Even though we now have the luxury of digital photography and photo shop don't rely on either technology as an excuse to slack off on presenting yourself in the best way possible.

Be sure your skin is looking healthy and glowing which eliminates the need for heavy dated looking makeup.  Try this basic routine for the weeks leading up to your photo shoot.

Cleanse and moisturize twice a day and be sure to wear an SPF everyday whether you will be spending time in the sun or not.  Choose a cleanser that won't dry out your skin or strip skin of moisture.  Immediately after cleansing your face should feel fresh and clean, if it feels tight, dry or itchy your cleanser is too strong, look for something more gentle.

Dot a little bit of eye cream under the eyes approximately a half an inch below the lash line. Use sparingly in both morning and night as too much will leave eyes puffy ....and  that is never flattering no matter how good the photographers lighting is.

If your aren't already using one incorporate a gentle scrub (exfoliator) and mask to your routine twice a week to slough off dry skin and get the gunk out of your pores.

One week prior to your photo shoot have a (European) cleansing facial done to clear your pores and hydrate the skin. Avoid having a facial right before your shoot in case any breakouts occur.

One to two weeks prior have your hair trimmed and if necessary touch up color or highlights so that your hair looks healthy. Dead or split ends and faded color doesn't ever photograph well and is hard to photoshop.

Dry cuticles and unkempt nails can distract from a pretty face on film so a professional or DIY mani and pedi are a must. Keep polish colors neutral ie:sheer pink, beige or clear alway look great.

Don't forget about your brows! Brows frame the eyes and with the right shape can even give the appearance of a mini lift. If you have never had your brows professionally shaped don't wait until the last minute, visit a brow professional 3-4weeks before your shoot to ensure you are happy with the shape of your arch...then make another touch up appointment 5-7days before your shoot.

Follow these easy tips for the weeks leading up to your shoot and you will be picture perfect when the big day comes!
