Tip102: White Balance

When photographing in various lighting conditions, it is important to understand how to correct for white balance and how to keep the color fidelity and color spectrum of your images, neutral and accurate.

As shown in the image above, before and after a custom white balance, using a neutral target.

1. Learn the most effective ways to calibrate for white balance in your camera, in your shooting environment and on your computer.

2. By understanding color temperature and the Kelvin scale of measurement, you can usefully estimate the correct white balance for the lighting conditions, when you are working quickly.

3. For Example: For Tungston Light as in the photo above, a quick setting would be 3200K.
